A fake users API for testing

Twelve sample users with names, emails and avatar images, served as JSON with pagination. Ideal for UI mockups, list views, tests and tutorials.

GET /api/users lists six users a page; ?page=2 for the rest
GET /api/users/2 for one user; /api/users/23 returns a 404 (an empty JSON object) to test not-found handling
POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE /api/users return realistic responses

Questions

How many users are there?

Twelve, six per page. GET /api/users?page=2 returns the second page.

Do created users persist?

No. POST returns the user with an id and createdAt, but nothing is saved. For data that saves, use a free project.

Can I test a 404?

Yes. GET /api/users/23 returns a 404 with an empty JSON object.

Need data that saves?

A free project gives you an API key and collections where records persist, so your demo or tutorial keeps its data.
